After 16 long days, Benji is finally home with his family and we couldn’t be happier for him and his family!!!! I started helping Joyce, the owner, last Friday with locating and trapping Benji. Sightings were an issue because he was in a VERY large wooded area with a quarry. We received 3 positive sightings from neighbors over the period and myself and my friend Maria spotted him once as well in the quarry on Tuesday. We were dealing with deer, raccoons, coyotes, foxes, possums and bear….everything that could live in the woods was eating the food….lol. But, this morning Benji took the bait and went into the trap that I set last night for him. I called Joyce and gave her the fabulous news and she was in total shock.
I want to thank the two neighbors that called in sightings and left food out for Benji. Romaine you are a fantastic lady feeding the stray cats, thank you for calling about seeing Benji in your yard and for showing me around town. A VERY special thank you to Mary Ann and Vince that saw Benji twice over the last two weeks. They are wonderful people that allowed me to setup two traps on their property. Wonderful animal loving kind people that were a blessing to meet. Thank you to my friends Stacie and Maria who came out with me to search the woods. You ladies ROCK and I am glad to know both of you!!! Thank you to my husband Jeff for always helping me with all of the crazy dog adventures that I get myself into. He is such a huge help with what I do and I love him so much. And last, but certainly not least a very special thank you to Joyce, Benji’s mom, for not giving up on getting her baby back and for trusting me to get Benji back.
We took Benji to the Emergency Animal Hospital and he received a clean bill of health. Just needs a REALLY good bath and to gain some weight back. We love happy endings and we LOVE Benji!!! Welcome home little guy….welcome home!!! Tracey
